PV Powered commercial inverters have been selected for use in the largest ground-mounted PV solar installation in the state of Georgia. The one-acre 200kW project, on a pecan farm near Arlington, is expected to generate over 310,000kWh of energy per year, working towards Georgia’s renewable generation goals.
The plant was engineered, constructed and commissioned by ESA Renewables, the Florida-based alternative energy provider, which has signed a five-year PPA with Georgia Power.
“ESA was looking for a reliable inverter with a proven track record in the industry and we found exactly that in products from PV Powered,” said Jeffrey Burkett, president of ESA Renewables. “We were impressed by the company’s responsiveness from the development stages throughout commissioning. Another deciding factor was PV Powered’s standard 10-year inverter warranty, which is not common in the industry.”
The Arlington plant is divided into five separate power-generating systems, utilizing five PV Powered commercial solar inverters. “PV Powered is excited to work with ESA Renewables on this significant solar plant in Georgia where there is great potential for the development of additional large solar projects” said Erick Petersen, vice president of sales and marketing at PV Powered.
