Sitting atop 673,000 square-feet of roof space on ProLogis’ distribution warehouses in Portland, Gresham and Clackamas, Oregon, is a newly installed 2.4MW solar project. Construction began on the US$14 million project this past March and was online earlier this month using ECD Uni-Solar flexible amorphous-silicon thin film laminate modules. This project brings PGE’s solar installation with ProLogis to a 3.5MW total and its singular solar capacity total to 14.3MW.
“Solar is clearly growing in Oregon and our customers are helping drive that,” said Carol Dillin, PGE’s vice president of customers and economic development. “We have seen unprecedented growth of residential and business solar projects in our area over the past two years which, coupled with the growth in solar manufacturing, helps develop more clean, renewable resources.”
The renewable energy from the project will help PGE meet Oregon’s 25% state renewable energy standard by 2025 with almost 9% reached by this year alone.
