Reaching closer to its aim of having 250MW installed in California within a five-year period, PG&E has selected Solon Corp. in Tucson, Arizona, to build a 2MW solar power plant in the western state. Solon will provide the modules and construct the 2MW plant, scheduled for completion in December 2009.
Solon Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Solon SE in Germany, was selected for the project following a multi-stage bidding process in which the company competed with several North American solar companies. The installers of the plant will be Silverwood Energy, Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB) based in San Diego, California.
