CIGS thin-film PV panel manufacturer Miasolé has appointed Preetha Nair as its country manager for India. The move comes as the company eyes further development into high-growth markets such as India.
Nair has previously worked at the Department of Commerce at the American Embassy in New Delhi as a senior commercial specialist. Here she provided advice for over 500 US companies entering the Indian market, equating to over US$4 billion in export sales. Nair was awarded the bronze honor award in March 2012, for her services to the US Department of Commerce.
Vice president of global business development and sales for Miasolé Rich Hossfeld commented, “The addition of Ms. Nair is a significant milestone in our long-term commitment to emerging markets like India. Ms. Nair's insight and extensive experience will be integral in further driving the growth of our company as well as enhancing the value and service we offer our customers. I look forward to working with Preetha as we develop our strategy throughout India and deliver the lowest levelized cost of electricity.”
Miasolé is currently working with Universal Solar System on a 2MW utility-scale PV project in Gujarat, western India. The project is funded by the Export-Import Bank of American and will take Miasolé’s generating capacity in India to 8MW – completed and ongoing projects. With its 14% efficiency panels, the company will be hoping its continued expansion into global markets will allow it to compete with the world's largest solar manufacturers.
