US-based solar energy holding company, Principal Solar (PSI) is planning to increase its portfolio of solar related PV power plants after filing registration documents to become the first distributed solar energy utility.
PSI is aiming to fall inline with full reporting conditions with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in order to make the transition.
The company announced late last year that it had engaged Carlyle Capital Markets Inc (CCMI) as its financial consultant to provide funding strategy guidance for solar project acquisitions.
Michael Gorton, CEO and chairman of PSI said: “In the coming year, we expect to increase the pace of our solar acquisitions, expand the educational activities of the Principal Solar Institute to advance the solar profession, and lay the groundwork for future solar development activities.”
PSI has previously said that it was expanding its business partnerships in the solar sector and expanding its project pipeline for acquisitions.
