With plans to exceed a total of more than 1000 installers worldwide before the end of 2010, Spain-based firm Proinso is set to become a ‘Point of Collection’ registered PV module recycler for PV Cycle organization. Initially, Proinso will provide two containers for crystalline panels and one for thin-film modules at each of its collection points located at its warehouses in Spain, Italy, and Greece; however the company said it expects to expand this to other countries such as France and Germany, shortly.
Proinso is also considering discounts of between 0.5% and 1% on the purchase of new modules or inverters of the brands distributed by the firm to its installer base, depending on the number of kWp devoted to recycling.
Shipping containers will be located at Proinso’s distribution facilities and when demand increases, extra storage containers will be added.
The company also said that it would not just recycle the modules of the brands commonly distributed by the installers, such as Trina Solar and REC, but also recycle other manufacturer’s modules with the aim of helping and retaining its relationship with its installers.
