Astronergy Solar has been awarded at least six of the 275 “Golden Sun” PV power plant demonstration projects announced by the Chinese Ministry of Finance. The combined capacity of the projects will be 7.86MW, the company said.
Construction on the projects will begin soon. The six sites awarded to Astronergy are an on-grid rooftop PV plant at Sinosteel in Changxing county, Zhejiang province; an off-grid system in Nanji, Pingyang county, Zhejiang province; an on-grid installation at Wenzhou Medical College; an on-grid plant at Zhejiang Xindi Group; an on-grid rooftop system at Chint Electrical Industry Park; and the PV building system at Astronergy.
The individual capacities or specific construction/activation timelines of each project were not announced by the company.
Noting Astronergy’s broad module product line, which includes mono- and polycrystalline silicon units as well as amorphous/microcrystalline-silicon thin film models, company CEO Liyou Yang explained that the “2MW rooftop on-grid photovoltaic project in Hangzhou’s Energy and Environment Industrial Park, which was completed in September of this year, provides us with valuable experience in the running of such projects. “
“We are dedicated to offering superior photovoltaic modules and excellent balance components of systems to our clients,” he concluded.
