A rooftop solar power plant with a total capacity of 2.5MW will be built by Colexon for logistics firm, SILAG Handel in Sonnefeld, Germany. The project will use 33,000 CdTe thin film modules from First Solar and should be completed by midyear to beat the feed-in tariff changes set for July 1. A mounting system developed by project developer will be used as the substructure.
“When the announced changes in feed-in tariffs will come into effect, large roof areas like those in Sonnefeld will become more interesting for German investors,” noted Thorsten Preugschas, CEO of Colexon.
The power output of the Sonnefeld plant is expected to amount to approx. 2.45 million kWh per year.
