Solar system supplier Conergy has completed three PV projects in Greece totalling 1.5MW for solar companies Diasindesi and Photovoltaika Karditsa.
For the first two 500kW projects in Livadia, in the province of Viotia, the German company acted as the main contractor, providing planning, engineering and construction expertise, as well supplying the components.
In the third project in Karditsa, Conergy supplied the components. Overall the three projects used some 6,200 of Conergy’s P Series PV modules.
“The economic situation in Greece is still very difficult,” said Stefanos Melissopoulos, Managing Director of Conergy Greece. “However, in 2012 we have proven that we can act very successfully in the Greek market, working closely with our strong network of partners.
“By doing so, we can still get things moving, even in these tough times. A solar power plant is one of the safest investments in our country, and combined with the growing importance of environmental issues, we feel we can be optimistic about the future of our industry.”
The company said it was planning further solar projects in Greece in the coming months.
