Masdar PV’s large-area thin-film solar modules are to be used for a 5MW solar power installation in an as-yet undisclosed location in the Indian desert. The company signed an agreement for the supply of its panels with Belectric, one of the world’s largest PV system integration companies.
Preparations for the ground-mounted solar park have all been completed, with construction on phase one of the park scheduled for completion before the end of the year. The plant has a total surface area of approx. 150,000m2.
“We are excited that we have managed to cooperate with Belectric for this project. We have found a very capable partner who will build a turnkey power station. This cooperation clearly shows that it was right to focus the activities of Masdar PV, one of the business divisions of Masdar Power, on the construction of large-scale industrial roof- and ground-mounted solar power plants,” says Frank Wouters, managing director of Masdar PV and Masdar Power.
