REC Solar has won a second contract to design and install a turnkey carport-mounted 2.9MW photovoltaic system spanning seven different parking areas at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson. The installation, said to be the largest of its kind in the U.S., will add to a 302KW single-axis tracker system that the solar integrator is scheduled to complete for the facility this month.
The company was awarded the new project after a competitive bidding process, as part of the VA’s commitment to us renewable energy at their facilities. The combined 3.2MW PV systems will generate more than 5.2 million KWh annually.
REC Solar did not disclose the timeline for design, construction, and completion of the new project nor the financial terms of the agreement.
