Global module manufacturer, Trina Solar has made an agreement with Jordan-based solar energy supplier, Shamsuna to construct a 10MW solar power plant.
Trina Solar will develop, construct, operate and maintain (O&M) the 10MW solar power project in Aqaba, Jordan. The O&M deal is a five-year agreement.
Trina will also supply 40,320 of its 250Wp TSM- PC05A solar modules for the plant, which will generate 19GWh a year, alleviating energy demand grid pressures rising in Jordan.
Located in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, southeast of Aqaba, once complete the plant will be the largest solar development in the coastal city.
Construction is to begin this December, to be online by mid 2015, with power sold under a sovereign backed, 20-year PPA with Jordan's National Electric Power Company.
