India-based EPC firm Sterling and Wilson has announced plans to develop 300MW of solar PV projects in Egypt after setting up an international office in Cairo.

The company plans to make use of the feed-in tariff programme for renewable energy brought in by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy in September 2014.

Sterling and Wilson have already won two 50MW projects in the country and plans to develop another 200MW portfolio. The plants will be constructed at solar parks, which are being constructed by the New and Renewable Energy Authority of Egypt at Ben Ban, Aswan and Zafarana.
