Solar firm Hanwha Q CELLS USA has announced plans to develop a 170MW PV power plant for utility Austin Energy.

Both companies have signed off on a 25-year power purchase agreement for the project, which will be developed on a privately owned location in Pecos County. The location of the installation site is close to several other solar projects under development and will be connected to Texas’ ERCOT grid.

Hanwha will develop, design and build the project — while no timetable was given for the installation’s construction.
