After several months of construction, PV developer Solar Frontier has finally completed an 11.6MW solar-energy facility at Kansai International Airport in Japan.

The Japanese thin-film PV manufacturer claims that the project is the largest photovoltaics facility at any airport in all of Asia.

The construction of the facility was managed by SF Kansai Mega Solar, a subsidiary of Solar Frontier’s joint investment corporation with the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), SF Solar Power.

The facility began operations on 1 February, 2014.
