The US subsidiary of German renewable energy firm Juwi has signed off on a 25-year power purchase agreement with not-for-profit wholesale power supplier Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association for a 30MW PV installation to be built in Southern Colorado.

The San Isabel Solar Project, which is expected to begin operations in the final quarter of 2016, will be comprised of over 100,000 PV panels on 101 hectares of land in Las Animas County near Trinidad.

This agreement stands as Tri-State’s first PPA for a utility-scale solar site in Colorado and the second in its resource portfolio.
