Said to be the largest PV rooftop installation in the Philippines to date, the 571kW PV array was officially inaugurated on June 5 and is located atop the headquarters of Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines.
The project was developed by a consortium established by Suntech and local EPC firm Propmech after it was selected via an international bidding process. Propmech provided EPC services.
The project was built over a six month period from December 2011 to May 2012 and covers a total area of 6,640 square metres. It is equipped with 2,040 STP 280 polycrystalline modules supplied by Suntech Power and generates a total output of 613MWh per annum.
The project was implemented through a Public Private Partnership module, under which ADB signed a power purchase agreement with the project developer. As a result, ADB did not directly invest in the project but instead the project developer provided the funds.
