Duke Energy Florida (DEF) has announced the development of a 3.8MW PV plant in Osceola County, Florida.

The installation stands as the first project in a new solar portfolio for DEF that is expected to reach 35MW by 2018, along with up to 500MW by 2024.

Once certain permits are approved by the state government, construction is expected to begin on the project, with completion slated for early 2016. The installation will be built on 6.8 hectares of a larger 10 hectare area of land owned by DEF on Canoe Creek Road in Kenansville.
