Status: Under Construction
Solar power installer Borrego Solar and renewable energy provider sPower have started construction on a solar project in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
The project, based out of the town of Riverhead, New York, will possess a generating capacity of 9.1MWdc/6.3MWac.
The plant will provide power to utility Public Service Enterprise Group – Long Island (PSEG-LI) through the group’s Clean Solar Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) program.
Once completed, the Riverhead plant is expected to generate enough clean energy to power around 1,100 homes per year while also displacing 8,300 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
