Status: Announced

Size: 1MW

Chinese manufacturer Yingli Solar has provided modules for what is expected to be one of the first large-scale PV projects to be built in East Malaysia.

The 1MW plant, which was commissioned earlier this month, was developed by local firm Cahaya Metro in the state of Sabah on the island of Borneo.

Yingli supplied 4,000 of its 60-cell multicrystalline modules for the project, which will supply power to the Borneo grid.

According to the company, the power plant in East Malaysia will generate 1.5 million kWh of power annually.
