Status: Under Construction
A 1MW rooftop PV array is currently under construction atop the Keppel Seghers Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant (UPNP), a wastewater recycling plant in Singapore.
Owned by “green” investors K-Green Trust (KGT), the project covers a rooftop area of 10,000 square metres and is said to represent Singapore’s largest individual solar project to date when complete in February 2013.
EPC services will be provided by local PV installer SolarGy. The company will install around 4,000 245Wp multicrystalline PV modules supplied by Yingli Green. Installation of the mounting structure began in October whilst installation of the modules began in mid-November.
When complete, the system will be connected to the grid and managed by Keppel Seghers NEWater Development. It will generate an estimated 1,000-1,200MWh of electricity annually. Output will be used for on-site consumption and will meet approximately 5% of the building’s electricity demand.
