Global utility E.ON has completed a 20MW solar project near the city of Taft in California.
The company’s subsidiary, E.ON Solar, connected the installation — known as the Maricopa West project — which makes up a portion of the wider Maricopa Sun Solar Complex.
The installation is comprised of 89,000 solar panels using single-axis tracking and has been tabbed with a specific habitat conservation plan, which will be enforced by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
Once completed, the entire Maricopa Sun Solar Complex will have a generation capacity of up to 700MW.
