PsomasFMG recently signed a 20- year power purchase agreement with Orange County, California worth US$20 million. Under the agreement, PsomasFMG will design, engineer, build, operate and maintain a solar power system that has the potential to reach 4MW and be installed across seven sites.
“The installation of the 4 MW solar power system is another smart move for the County as we work to reduce energy costs,” said James Campbell, manager of land development and renewable energy initiatives for Orange County Public Works. “This project helps to meet the County’s goal of providing an infrastructure that can be replicated by local municipalities in this market.”
The 4MW solar project would provide electricity for Orange County facilities and be installed as carport structures and ground-mounted systems. The solar system is anticipated to be in full operation 2011’s fourth quarter.
