The Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit is showcasing a customised back-side tabbing paste, especially developed for the Taiwan market at PV Taiwan 2013, being held in Tapei this week.
The PV materials specialist said that the back-side tabbing paste, ‘SOL203T’, exhibited 15% less paste and 25% less silver usage per cell while maintaining the required adhesion.
The company also noted that its front-side paste, ‘SOL9610M’, offered improved overall performance and continued to gain strong market acceptance in Taiwan.
Jason Lu, the deputy general manager for Heraeus Materials Technology Taiwan, said, “The production and market share of solar cell production in Taiwan is growing and Heraeus has been successfully growing with the Taiwan market. Heraeus Materials Technology Taiwan Ltd. is a local company that focuses on the needs of our customers in Taiwan.”
Heraeus said that it had also demonstrated a 1% improvement in efficiency over previous generations of pastes for n-type solar cells with the combination of SOL9350 and SOL9610 Series for the p+ and n+ wafer surfaces respectively.
