Rehm Thermal Systems' thermal oxidation process has received industry recognition following the presentation of a Solar Industry Award at last week’s EU PVSEC in Hamburg.
The company’s RFS-D Fast Firing System with integrated dryer and RDS Drying System featuring thermal oxidation topped the product category for improving operating efficiency and environmental compliance of solar dryers and firing systems, compared to traditional condensate separation techniques. The technology reduces vapour and smoke from the fast firing process chamber to minimize residue contamination from photovoltaic metallization.
At the awards ceremony on September 6, RTS chief executive Johannes Rehm emphasised the technology’s environmental credentials in the context of legal limits on emissions, saying “it is essential that green energy is generated by green processes.”
“Plus, with other advantages including reduced maintenance costs, low energy consumption, minimal operating costs and decreased odour of solar dryers, it’s an incredibly efficient technology,” he said.
Solar International magazine readers vote for best product, company and industry person for the annual awards, which editor David Ridsdale said were evidence of “the confidence of the global solar and PV community.”
