Investment firm Rijn Capital Chile has submitted an application for a 35.8MW solar power plant in the Latin American country.
The plant will join Rijn Capital Chile's 500MW pipeline of large solar projects in Chile.
Rijn submitted an environmental impact assessment application to the Chilean authorities (SEIA) for a solar park named the ‘San Pedro V’, 15 August.
Construction on the San Pedro V project is expected to begin on 2 January 2015.
San Pedro would be located in El Loa Province, Calama, the northern, Antofagasta region of Chile. The north of Chile is renowned for its high solar radiation.
The project requires US$85 million investment and will deliver power to Chile’s northern SING grid network.
