Following the news that Mallinckrodt Baker was acquired by New Mountain Capital last month, the company has appointed Robert Harrer as executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. Harrer was previously a business advisor to New Mountain and will be leading Mallinckrodt in its global financial operations, IT, human resources, legal department and other global shared services.
Harrer brings experience to his new positions from Rohm and Haas chemical company where he held several financial leadership positions, which included CFO for the electronics materials business group, financial director of the European region and corporate controller/director of financial planning. After Dow Chemical bought Rohm and Haas in 2009, Harrer was appointed as the controller of the new division and led the incorporation of the two finance establishments. Additionally, he held finance positions with Arthur Anderson & Co., Alcatel and SKW Trostberg.

Harrer received a master’s degree in business administration and mathematics from Albert Einstein University in Germany.
