A revival in PV projects in the third quarter boosted sales at German-based PV manufacturer and project developer, S.A.G. Solarstrom.
Sales in Q3 2012 reached €55.4 million with an EBIT of €2.2 million, the first profitable quarter for the year, though the company remains unprofitable to the tune of over €3.0 million in the first nine months of the year.
S.A.G. Solarstrom’s Project Planning and Plant Construction segment achieved sales of €69.9 million in the first nine months of 2012 and Q3 2012 sales were €44.9 million.
PV projects in the first nine months of 2012 reached 42.8MWp, with 28.8MWp completed in Q3 alone.
Management noted in its financial report that after two weak quarters for large-scale projects, Q3 included 2.1MWp of rooftop projects in Italy, 2MWp in two projects in Spain.
The majority of projects in the quarter however were in Germany. These included projects on ‘converted’ land totalling 15.2MWp. The company also implemented a 10MWp power plant on former land used for military purposes.
The company reiterated it was targeting to meet and exceed 100MWp of installations and to achieve a positive operating result.
