Semilab has recently completed its acquisition of Tordivel Solar, an inspection/metrology tool company. Financial terms were not released, but Tordivel advised that a majority of the Tordivel employees will continue on with Semilab. Tordivel Solar’s recipe and yield management software was already being used by Semilab for in-line thickness, sheet resistivity and lifetime measurement systems.
“This acquisition strengthens our product offering in incoming substrate and PV process metrology and inspection” commented Tibor Pavelka, president and CEO of Semilab. “Tordivel Solar is a major supplier of imaging and inspection products for in line use and we are happy to add their quality products to our extensive portfolio”.
The systems are based off the Scorpion Vision Software application, which is maintained by Tordivel Solar’s sister company, Tordivel AS. In addition to the Tordivel Solar’s acquisition, Semilab and Tordivel AS have formed a software license agreement through which Tordivel will work exclusively with Semilab for the wafer inspection business.
