Sentinel Solar, formerly Sentinel Power Systems, has entered into a business partnership with SolGate. This new relationship is aimed at strengthening both companies’ presence in the Ontario solar market.
“This exclusive distribution partnership with Solgate ensures Sentinel will continue to have a consistent supply of quality, Ontario-made solar modules to address its rapidly expanding business in Ontario,” said Adam Webb, president of Sentinel Solar. “With the Ontario Power Authority’s (OPA) increasing emphasis on Ontario content in the feed-in tariff and MicroFIT Programs, access to locally made solar modules is vital,” Webb continued.
Due to the recent increase in solar power in Ontario, both Sentinel and Solgate have scaled up operations. Solgate has expanded production capacity from 6 to 25MW of solar modules annually while Sentinel has introduced a new 10kW dual axis solar tracking system that increases the collection efficiency of a system by up to 40%, shortening the payback period of a system under the MicroFIT Program. This system will be launched in May 2010.
