Taiwan-based wafer producer, Sino-American Silicon (SAS) sales in August, 2015 continued a trend of limited volatility due to high-utilisation rates experienced since April 2014.
SAS reported August sales of NT$ NT$2.442 billion (US$75.1 million), up 0.23% from the previous month. Sales have climbed 4.09% since the beginning of the year.
Monocrystalline solar cell subsidiary, Global Solar Energy was said to be planning to expand production to 1GW by the middle of 2016 on strong demand.
Demand is also being generated from downstream projects, using monocrystalline modules from German subsidiary, aleo.
