Germany-based renewable energy control manufacturer, Skytron Energy, has completed of a monitoring system in Kuwait’s first solar energy plant.
The 1.17MW solar project was developed with Skytron’s partner, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) solar developer, Environmena Power Systems, after the project was initiated by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity and Water.
The PV plant was constructed near the landmark Kuwait Towers in Kuwait City, to increase renewable energy awareness in the Gulf state.
Monitoring energy production and the equipment status is Skytron energy’s 'PVGuard' control room platform, assisting with operation and maintenance off the plant. The plant is fitted with TMEIC (Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation) 250kW solar inverters.
Ayham Mkalalati, business development manager of Enviromena Power Systems, said Skytron developed a new interface to use the Mitsubishi inverter with Skytron’s monitoring system. Skytron Energy developed the monitoring system and a data-exchange interface for real-time data logging for the inverters to keep pace with evolving PV system technology.
