SMA America advised that its Denver solar inverter manufacturing facility has passed the initial registration audit for both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards with the audit returning no findings. TÜV USA performed the certification audit and awarded SMA registration for meeting the requirements of both ISO standards.
“This is a tremendous achievement for SMA,” said Scott Crabtree, general manager of North American operations for SMA America Production, LLC. “Passing the registration audits for both ISO standards, and with zero findings, is evidence of our industry-best manufacturing processes, resulting in a superior experience for our customers.”
The company’s Denver site, which manufactures the Sunny Boy and Sunny Central inverters, began its ISO certification process in January. The certification will be considered current for three years, after which SMA’s facility will once again undergo a re-certification audit to renew the certification.
