German inverter manufacturer SMA Solar has been selected to provide inverters and operations and maintenance services for what is set to be Canada’s largest PV power plant.
SMA will supply 125 of its 800CP-US Sunny Central inverters and provide O&M services for the next decade on the 140MW Kingston Solar project in Ontario.
SMA was selected to supply inverters to another huge Canada project last year, the 130MW Grand Renewable solar project, also in Ontario.
“SMA has always been known as the world’s solar technology leader, but projects like Kingston Solar and Grand Renewable Solar are solidifying SMA’s position as the number one O&M and utility-solutions provider in North America,” said Henry Dziuba, president of SMA Canada. “We are proud to be selected to power and maintain Canada’s two largest PV systems.”
Kingston Solar will be operated under SMA’s so-called ‘proactive’ O&M plan.
The project is due for completion next year.
