Japan-based independent power provider (IPP), Sojitz Corporation, has completed its second solar project in Germany. Partnered with German energy supplier, EON-Edis, the plant, in Mixdorf, has been operating since July.
Sojitz has already been operating a solar power business with a 3MW annual generating capacity in Betzweiler in southern Germany since 2010. The Mixdorf project has a generating capacity of 24MW making it one of Germany’s largest solar power plant. Costing in the region of €55 million, the 800 hectares of land incorporates approximately 100,000 solar panels.
The 20-year electricity sale agreement with EON-Edis under the FiT scheme stipulates the sale of electricity for €0.2207/kW hour.
Wirsol Solar was involved with the engineering, procurement and construction aspect.
