On January 18, Solar Frontier’s president, Shigeaki Kameda, officially opened the company’s new and expanded headquarters at Bavariafilmplatz in Gruenwald near Munich, Germany. Solar Frontier’s new facilities house its technical support, partner program, business development and marketing teams in addition to its management team.
While the company will organize the sales of its CIS modules from its new headquarters, Solar Frontier acknowledges that a majority of its modules will be manufactured at its Miyazaki, Japan plant, which has a full production capacity of 900MW.
“Solar Frontier’s expansion was our declared goal since our market entry in Europe. So soon after launching, our team in Munich has grown significantly and we had to move to new, much larger offices. Of course we want to continue growing quickly and are continuing to search for motivated team members who are well-versed technologically. We plan to install our CIS technology together with our partners in these countries in 2011. In addition, we will also continue to broaden our list of top tier partners,” said Wolfgang Lange, managing director of Solar Frontier Europe.
