SolarCity, the largest residential installer in the US, has appointed Brad Buss as its new CFO.
Buss replaces Bob Kelly, who will retire at the end of August. The pair will work together during a transition period.
“This is a tremendous addition to the executive team, Brad brings a combination of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, project finance and other key disciplines that we've been unable to find in any other executive,” said Lyndon Rive, CEO, SolarCity. “Brad is a perfect fit for SolarCity's next stage of growth as we vertically integrate manufacturing to significantly lower the cost of solar electricity.”
Buss was previously CFO at Cypress Semiconductor but retired in April.
The company is currently the subject of two class action suits by shareholders which allege that an accounting error damaged their investments.
Buss is a board member of Tesla Motors.
