Solar panel distributor Solarform has completed its latest PV project in Ontario, Canada. The 250kW rooftop project covers an area of 30,000 sq ft, and will take advantage of Ontario’s FiT program, which requires solar projects to use at least 60% domestic content, thus promoting local companies.
Solarform supplies Juli New Energy’s modules, which hold a 25-year linear performance guarantee, and are manufactured by OSM Solar Corp at its Ontario facility. The panels at Solarform’s 250kW installation are mounted off the roof surface, allowing air to flow beneath them, reducing operating temperatures and increasing efficiency. Their positioning should also prevent the build-up of large volumes of snow during winter.
“This is our second large-scale, raised-roof solar facility. Developing sites like this allows us to continue to expand our knowledge and develop world class solar solutions in Ontario and North America” says Bill Melnik, Solarform’s president. “We assist our clients by modelling high output, quality solar plants as solar farms, rooftop solar or micro fit solar. We have the engineering and expertise to model the best and highest yielding systems”.
