Dr. Srinivasamohan “Mohan” Narayanan has been selected by Solarfun Power Holdings as their new vice president of technology. With publication and six patents to his name relating to casting, wafering and other cell processes, the company is looking for Narayanan to lead their research and development team, improve product performance and innovation and streamline manufacturing operations.

Mohan has over 25 years of experience in research and advanced process and technology development in the PV industry. His in-depth understanding and great track record leading teams in India, Australia, China and the United States will make him a valuable resource as we continue to build our business.”
Dr. Narayanan was most recently the CTO with the solar energy division of Reliance Industries in India and in charge of planning the company’s entry into the midstream solar business. He also held the position as VP of technology at Trina Solar and during the period of 1989 to 2006, held a number of technology related roles at BP Solar, which included director of the global screen print technology division. From 1984 to 1989, he worked as a laboratory manager at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
Narayanan has a PhD in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, an MS in material science from Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, a BE in metallurgical engineering from the University of Madras and a diploma in industrial management from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
