Solarfun Power Holdings has taken an important step in its attempts to become a major player in the Italian PV market by signing contracts with two new clients. The company has also unveiled plans to build a new office in Milan, which will provide technical and marketing support to clients and increase regional access to Solarfun's PV products.
“Solarfun's expansion and investment in Italy is a significant milestone in our strategy, as the Italian market is of high priority for us in Europe. We expect our installation base in Italy to grow to over 50MW in 2010, driven largely by our established relationships with leading regional developers such as Tozzi, Scatec, Gransolar, Rusol, Meridian, the Loh-Group and 9REN,” said Dr. Peter Xie, president and chief executive officer of Solarfun.
These latest developments follow closely on from Solarfun’s August announcement that it would be supplying 20.4MW of PV modules for a new solar park in Italy; the park is being built by 9REN Group and will be operational by Q3 2011.
