PV module firm Solaria has added two new faces to its executive team. Coming on board are Marco Garcia as chief commercial officer and Bob Zapotsky as chief financial officer, who replaces the recently retired Chris Dier.
Garcia brings years of solar industry experience to his new job, having worked most recently as CCO at Suniva, and previously in sales management positions at Suntech and PowerLight (now part of SunPower).
Zapotsky has nearly three decades of experience in a variety of corporate settings, including a long run at global contract manufacturing giant, Flextronics. He has also worked in the renewable sector, with stints at Ultra Cell and Electronic Lighting.
Solaria CEO Dan Shugar said that with the arrival of Garcia, “we’re going to accelerate customer focus to serve system integrators, developers, and utilities. Marco has impressive solar sales experience; in his career, he’s driven and closed over 250MW. We couldn’t be more excited to have him on board.”
“As Solaria’s manufacturing operations scale up, so does our need for an executive with high-volume manufacturing expertise,” continued Shugar. “Bob’s experience at Flextronics gives him the skills and experience we need. I can’t imagine a better partner than Bob to oversee finance, information technology, risk management, contracts and facilities.”
The additions to Solaria's C-level management team come as the company is expanding its production capabilities, with the opening of new facilities in Fremont, CA.
