SolarMax Technology advised that its plans to expand its retail business are well underway. The company intends to open five office branches in Southern California, including sites in Orange County and Inland Empire, by the end of this month. Even more ambitiously, the company aims to have 25 retail locations open throughout Southern California by the end of 2012.
“We plan to open five branch offices by the end of the year,” said David Hsu, SolarMax Technology president. “So far we have opened an office in Temecula and one in Orange County; we’re now looking at Corona and Simi Valley. We’re looking at Los Angeles County as well as the OC and the Inland region. Solar power is affordable and opening these retail shops will help spread that knowledge to both commercial and residential markets.”
Its plans for growth additionally include stepping outside of California and into China. The company recently signed a deal for a US$150 million, 35MW contract for a solar power system at an airport rooftop in Shanghai.
