Due to the use of integrated transformers in its ‘SmartGrid’ inverters, Solectria Renewables is claiming it has achieved 97.5% CEC efficiency, making it the first with integrated transformers to achieve efficiencies higher than 97%. The results are said to apply to its SGI series (225kW, 250kW, 266kW, 300kW) inverters.
“As the leading U.S. PV Inverter manufacturer, Solectria Renewables continually focuses on innovative engineering, reliability and attaining leading efficiencies,” commented Michael Zuercher-Martinson, Chief Technology Officer at Solectria Renewables. “As we expand our product line, we continue to develop the most reliable, efficient and technologically advanced inverters.”
According to the company its SGI series also include support utility options such as VAR support, low voltage ride through, controlled ramp rate and remote power control.
Competitor, Advanced Energy also uses transformerless technology and has also achieved the same conversion efficiencies.
All inverters have tare losses (energy consumed to operate the device itself) however Solectria Renewables claims it has the lowest night time tare loss in the industry.
