Solon Corporation, a provider of PV products based in the US, has named Jared Schoch as vice president and general manager of its power plants business.
As part of his role, Schoch will oversee the company’s commercial and utility-scale power plants. Additionally, he will focus on the expansion of Solon’s power plant business in the Americas. According to Dan Alcombright, president and CEO of Solon, Schoch has “demonstrated leadership in developing and expanding energy services markets”.
His experience in managing power plants amounts to more than 1GW of solar projects working with utilities, school districts, cities, counties, hospitals, federal agencies and industrial clients across the US.
Schoch’s appointment is in line with the company’s aggressive hiring plans which aim to support its business expansion throughout the US.
Previously, Schoch was managing director at SunEdison, where he spend four and a half years growing SunEdison's commercial and utility-scale solar development businesses throughout the US. Prior to this role, he spent almost six years as a leader in business development at Johnson Controls in energy efficiency services.
Solon has built nearly 100MW of commercial and utility-scale solar power plants, the majority of which are in Arizona, California and Colorado. Its power plant business offers turnkey solutions including development, design, finance, engineering, procurement, construction, monitoring and operations and maintenance services.
