Soventix, Solaris Kraftwerke and Thermovolt have completed the first installation phase of their joint solar park in Gerstingen, Germany. Building work lasted just three months and when the final two phases are finished the site will have a capacity of 4MW.
This ramp up will see the park expand onto 10 acres of nearby waste land adjacent to a derelict train station. Around 20,000 Sovello modules will power the site, which is set to be the largest in the state of Thüringen.
“The partnership with Solaris Kraftwerke and Thermovolt AG was excellent,” Soventix’s managing director, Tobias Friedrich, said. “We received tremendous support from the mayor and the whole community, who all made the realisation of this project possible.”
Inauguration of the plant is taking place on January 11, and is being attended by local dignitaries including the mayor of Gerstungen, Werner Hartung.
