Canadian Solar will reveal a new Diamond module at SPI in Las Vegas this week.
The company said the frameless panel will be free of potential induced degradation (PID).
The module will use heat-strengthened glass instead of a polymer backsheet and with no frame, requires no grounding.
“Canadian Solar is committed to providing robust, high-performance solar modules to meet the diversified needs of our global customers,” said Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO, Canadian Solar. “This Diamond Module, which will be officially launched in 2015, essentially enhances our customers’ return on investment by decreasing system costs while improving energy yield.”
According to the company, the module will also have high tolerance to harsh environmental conditions including, temperature, humidity, high-UV and sandstorms.
Canadian Solar will be at booth no 300 at the SPI exhibition which runs this week, 21-23 October in Las Vegas.
