Global EPC firm SPI Solar (SPI) has secured the land and project development rights for a 6MW project in Susami City, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan scheduled to begin construction next month.
This project will be one of the first for SPI’s newly formed Japan subsidiary, SPI Solar Japan GK, which will provide engineering, procurement and construction services. SPI Solar Japan was formed in September 2014.
The project's 6MW size makes it SPI Japan’s first ultra-high voltage project for this market. The project is expected to be completed by August 2015.
