Salt Lake City-based renewable energy developer sPower has reshuffled its senior management team, bringing in two new faces with another set to leave the firm.
Former Jones Lang LaSalle MD of capital markets David Shipley has taken the reins as newly appointed chief financial officer after several months as senior VP of structured finance, replacing interim CFO Bob Wowk who will be standing down from sPower.
A founding member of research and investment company Enfinity America, Shipley joined sPower six months ago. Company chief executive Ryan Creamer said he had done “an incredible job” for sPower since arriving.
“We have significantly expanded our financing relationships, a key goal of ours as we continue to build out our ever-expanding pipeline,” Creamer added.
Wowk is to remain at the firm for a transitional period as his duties are passed on.
Ray Henger, formerly CFO at US-based wind developer OwnEnergy, will step into Shipley’s former role after six years at OwnEnergy having previously held roles at investment banking firms Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse.
“Ray’s financial and wind expertise will add depth to our management team. We have aggressive growth objectives and know Ray will hit the ground running,” Creamer added.
sPower has enjoyed a busy 2015 to date, acquiring four solar portfolios with a combined capacity of 225MW in March and April before securing a US$168.5 million financing deal. Last month the firm broke ground on a 45MW solar plant in Arizona.
