Swiss inverter manufacturer Sputnik Engineering has increased its presence within the U.K. solar industry by opening a new sales office in London, reports Solar Power Portal. The office, which is being run by Key Account Manager Neil Martin and was officially opened on January 1, will enable Sputnik to build closer relationships with clients and respond more flexibly to their requests.
Q4 2010 saw Sputnik’s SolarMax S and SolarMax MT string inverters and SolarMax TS central inverters receive Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation and these inverters have already been fitted on residential and commercial properties across the U.K. – including on the country's largest privately held solar power plant in Glastonbury, Somerset.
“Sputnik Engineering is entering the market at just the right time to establish itself in the UK. Since the introduction of the new remuneration rates in April 2010 the attractiveness of photovoltaic plants in the UK has grown enormously,” said Martin.
