CIGS thin-film module manufacturer Stion has revealed a 10W performance improvement in its panels.
The company was announcing the release of the Elevation Series STO module line which it claims to have added 10W to the performance through a number of process improvements.
Stion also claimed that it has achieved a record low temperature coefficient of 0.26%/˚C allowing it to perform better in harsher climates. The manufacturer claims its modules regularly outperform crystalline modules during field tests.
“We are pleased to announce this new and improved product line as part of our commitment to bring the best product value at highest quality in the industry to our customers,” said Chet Farris, CEO, Stion.
A recent report by NPD Solarbuzz said further investment was required in the production of thin-film PV if it was to check a year on year decline.
Solarbuzz estimate thin-film will have market share of 7% in 2017, down from a peak of 16% in 2009.
